The "eyes of the torso..."

...as Kazu called them. Painting class is great! I'm so happy to have a chance at learning oils properly. Anyway, this looked better last night while I was still on the high of being able to do such a thing.

So... LA is good! I haven't been terribly motivated to do anything, but these past two weeks visited Dreamworks & Nickelodeon studios. Dreamworks is like some campus or something, made me sleepy. Maybe it was the giant koi in a very zen pond.... The Nick building is like some experiment in CRAZY. Green-tiled stairs that look like they belong in a swimming pool, curvy couches, popcorn machine, and... and... stairs shaped like slime. A big thanks to Brianne, Martin, Denise, Alina, Steve, and a huuuuuuge thanks to Mr. Chris Battle for lunch and a wonderful tour of the place. That tour was so good you should charge for it, dude.

Anyhoo, I'm trying to board out a film I've been wanting to do, I should start posting things from that to stay motivated. It's hard to stay focused with the heat... you walk outside and feel like a turkey in the oven. Ok, off with the whining and on to the working! Gotta get some cartoons up here soon.

Make film please!! That painting is pretty, you know what they say about eyes, being the gateway to the soul or something.
You should visit CN too, there are alot of candy bowls here! ...and free ice cream!

Wow looks like the class is paying off! I always admire anyone who can do oils well because I completely suck at them. Hmmm...maybe I should take a class. Excellent work!

No charge for tours for pals, Clio :) Glad you had a good time! Make sure you take Brianne up on that CN visit... they have big 3D characters all over the place!

Yeah Clio! Staying in LA!!! :)

My studio is nowhere near as cool as CN or Nick or Dreamworks, but anytime you want to come to the heart of Hollywood, let me know, at least we have good food in the area.

I miss you. Nice painting, it looks like one of those paintings that old people who've been drawing their whole life paint. Ya know?

I've only walked past the Nickelodeon studio building and it looked pretty wacky from the outside...so I'm not surprised about how you've described what it looks like on the inside. But I wanna go see it now!

Nice "eyes"
i saw a bit of the nick studios. it's pretty cartoony.. its a good example of what i always thought a cartoon studio would look like when i was a kid.
just did the animatic for your last Pucca board, "he loves me not" pretty epic! good job! its gonna cause a stir... i know it!
